Does my POS system support round-ups?+
Most modern POS systems support a round-up or charity donation prompt at checkout. We work with you and your POS provider to set it up. If your system doesn't support it natively, we have simple workarounds that require no new hardware.
What if customers don't opt in?+
Opt-in rates start lower and grow over time as staff get comfortable asking. Even stores with lower transaction counts can generate meaningful revenue through customer round-ups. Use the calculator above to estimate your store's potential. We've seen stores go from low opt-in rates to 45%+ within 60 days simply by making it part of the checkout script.
What materials can be recycled?+
Doob tubes, pre-roll packaging, vape cartridges, pens and disposables, batteries, mylar bags and pouches, glass jars, plastic pop-top containers, cardboard and paper packaging, and tin containers. No sorting required — everything goes in together.
How does the bin collection work?+
When you join, we ship you 12 collection boxes upfront. At the end of every month, we send a pre-paid shipping label. Whether the box is full or not, you seal it and ship it back — we track your monthly impact regardless. We send a monthly diversion report showing exactly what was collected.
What if we fill more than one bin in a month?+
No problem — and that means your store is making money! If your volume fills more than one box in a month, we simply charge one additional month's shipping fee for the second box.
How much staff time does this require?+
One line at checkout: "Would you like to round up for cannabis recycling?" No sorting, no weighing, no customer education required. Staff onboarding takes about 10 minutes.
What provinces do you service?+
We currently serve Alberta, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and BC — with select US locations. If you're outside these provinces, reach out anyway — we're expanding.
What if my store only does 50–80 transactions/day?+
At 80 transactions/day with a 40% opt-in and $0.55 average, you'd collect $6,424/year — generating real profit after the program fee. Many of our best-performing stores started small.
Is this compliant for cannabis retailers?+
Yes. The recycling program operates independently of your cannabis sales. Round-up funds are collected as a voluntary customer contribution — similar to a charitable round-up at any other retailer. We provide full ESG diversion reporting for your compliance records.
